Updated letter – 4/6/2010 Brenda Nasimiyu Wekola was born in the Tuti location of the Bungoma district which is in the Western part of Kenya. Brenda has been assisted by Born to Aid with regard to school fees, medical care, and other living expenses for a number of years. Brenda's siblings and cousins Antony Simiyu, age 20, Everlyn Nakhumicha, age 14, Mercy Nafung, age 12 and Cynthia Nabwire age 10 have also been in the care of Born to Aid.

Brenda attended Kibabii Primary School in the Bungoma District and now attends Shiner’s High School in Nakuru. Based upon achieving high marks in her classes, communication skills, attitude, interests in hobbies and sports, she was awarded a scholarship at Marin Catholic Preparatory High School in Marin County, California. This will be a great advancement towards her dream of furthering her education by attending college.  Brenda considers herself to be hardworking and ambitious, is very proud of her accomplishments and is very much looking forward to this new challenge. She is very  appreciative of this new opportunity afforded her. Additionally, some of Brenda’s interests include singing, dance, debate clubs,poetry, and sports, especially volleyball and handball.  

Marin Catholic High School is offering her a scholarship of $10,000 for two years which will only cover a portion of the $30,000 tuition. Born to Aid is now asking that our partners please contribute to our education fund in support of Brenda.
